Colorado monotypes
I was provided the best inspiration for printing on my new press this winter! (see images below).
I had the privilege of assisting Stephen Quiller “pull” prints of his etchings for a few weeks this winter. We were very productive! We spent 5 days a week, 5 hours a day printing–and by my count made over 400 impressions of a dozen or more images. They will be available for sale at the Quiller Gallery, where I’ll be working this summer.
It had been many years since I had done any printmaking–not since art school, and helping Steve was so inspirational and rekindled my love for printmaking so much that I bought a small printing press!
“Pulling” a print is a very literal description of printmaking. The plate is inked and positioned on the bed of the press, paper and blankets are put on top of it. As the bed of the press goes under the roller, it pushes the paper onto the inked plate after which you “pull” the paper off the plate.
I created some monotypes with my new press (a sampling is shown below). These are single impressions from a painted plate, not an edition of multiple images as etchings produce.
These originals and reproductions will be for sale. I have (or soon will) make these available on the Saatchi Art website.

Creede Adventure
Finished my commission after a lovely week-long Labor Day visit in Creede, Colorado with 5 fabulous women I’ve known for 46 years. They provided laughter, inspiration, wisdom and more. Thanks friends!
This is titled Starry Trout, due to the star-like effects. I was also influenced by the smokey vistas we experienced due to the wildfires in the NW. It is 26″ square.
Hope my clients love it! I do.

Here we are at North Clear Creek Falls! (I’m on the far left).

Ready for Abbey Lane

Here I am, shown in my studio, with some of my new artwork and antlers that are ready to be delivered to Abbey Lane Gallery, Creede, Colorado for the gallery opening on Memorial weekend, 2017. I hope to see you there!
Some new subject matter that I’ve been working on are small, 6″ x 6″ paintings of aspen trees, and a more horizontal format for the trout impressions. Also to be delivered are two large trout paintings titled East and West Willow, the creeks where they were caught many years ago.

Artful Antlers for your home
I’ve recently completed a series of antler artwork for the home. They can be hung on a wall with other object or artwork, set inside a bookcase displayed with other objects of art, or set on a table as part of a tablescape. A gallery in Colorado uses them to display jewelry for sale.
They are made of real deer antlers, silver and gold foil, paint, mini glass beads, semi-precious and man-made stones, that shimmer and glow as light hits them. They also cast really nice shadows on your walls!
Prices do not include shipping, packing or insurance. Measurements are height x width x depth.

Cottonwood Monotypes
Just completed framing three, hand painted monotypes of our cottonwood tree. I’ve been documenting the tree year-round for over a year to use as reference, usually when the light is special, or there is something about the architecture of the tree I enjoy seeing. She is majestic, old, and home to at least three families of squirrels, and possibly flickers and/or woodpeckers. The orioles have not nested their for several years, but I have seen them investigating this week.
